SUNCOM Network
The State of Florida's SUNCOM Network connects subscribing state agencies, such as universities, community colleges, city and county governmental offices, with a telecommunication system which saves the state money on all network long distance calls.
Departmental personnel can save the university additional money by using the SUNCOM network to place long distance calls to off-network numbers anywhere in the continental United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and Canada. These calls are used for official state business only.
- ON-NET LOCATIONS
- SUNCOM subscribers who have access to the SUNCOM network for originating calls. These subscribers are assigned a seven digit SUNCOM telephone number.
- OFF-NET LOCATIONS
- Telephone numbers in the directory that appear with an area code and are not on the SUNCOM network. This also includes any commercial telephone number or any out of state telephone number.
Using the SUNCOM Network to call On-Net Numbers:
- Listen for dial-tone.
- Enter access code ("8" at UCF).
- Do not use "1" or an area code.
